SMALL BUSINESS SERVICES

Our Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center (HRSBDC) offers specialized business advice and free assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Clients gain access to a network of public and private agencies and businesses for additional assistance. The HRSBDC is hosted by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and Thomas Nelson Workforce Development. The HRSBDC is supported by the U. S. Small Business Administration, local municipalities and financial institutions. HRSBDC services include:

• Direct One-to-One Counseling — The Center's counselors offer their expertise in areas such as financing, loan packages, marketing, strategic planning and general business planning.
• Business Training Program — The Center offers programs on a variety of topics such as Business Start-Ups, IRS Tax Issues, and SBA Lender and Borrower training sessions.
• Business Education — NxLevel Entrepreneurial Courses are conducted throughout the year for existing and startup businesses
• Loan Preparation — The Center introduces business owners to traditional and alternative financing for small business; assists with business plan development; and provides a checklist of items required to enable them to apply for loans.
